Abstract

404,474. Vehicle axle - bearings. ROGERS, J. D., 12, Wetherby Mansions, Earls Court Square, London. Feb. 13, 1933, No. 4408. Addition to 386,449. [Class 12 (i).] The invention described in the parent Specification is modified by supporting each hanger d for a spring on a plate g resting on the floor of the keep a, the apertures j in the plate g being countersunk and the heads k of the hangers d being correspondingly formed to permit self-alignment of the hangers. The latter pass through clearance slots c in the keep a, and the plate g is preferably in two parts, a set screw i passing through the plate at the joint and screwing into the keep. The plato g is located in a slot in the keep a and the ends thereof enter recesses e with bevelled edges f in the keep a. The screw i also serves to anchor the spring m of the lubricating device.
