[Class 143.] Pendulum-weight apparatus.-Relates to an automatic weighing scale of the kind wherein the parallelism of the goods plate is maintained by a check link and the weight is indicated on a fanshaped or triangular dial mounted on a pillar so as to permit of the customer observing the goods plate whilst viewing the indicator. According to the invention the check link passes through slots at the opposite sides of the pillar, and the ends of the link are connected respectively to a check arm and to a member fixedly or adjustably mounted on the pillar. The scale beam 7 is connected by flexible members 42, 40 to a cam 37 adjustably secured to the pendulum 33 by a slot and screw connection. Indicating pointers 35 at each side of the dial co-operate with charts 36. The goods pan 10 is maintained in an horizontal position by a link 17 which passes through slots 19 in the pillar. The ends of the link are connected respectively to an adjustable post 18 and to the check arm 16, each by means of three aligned knife-edges. A level 52 is supported from the base 1 and projects through the cover 53, which may be removed independently of the level. Vibration preventing and neutralizing.-An oil dashpot 56 mounted on the baseplate 1 is connected to the scale lever by an arm 60 and the speed of operation of the dashpot may be varied in known manner by manipulating a lever 61a.
