Abstract

360,319. Bending tubes. DARD, L. M. L., 34, Rue Perignon, Paris. March 5, 1931, No. 6942. Convention date, March 8, 1930. [Class 83 (iv).] In a tube bending machine comprising a rotating former 3 and cooperating rolls 4, 5, 6 these rolls are movable to vary the curvature before or during bending by auxiliary gears mounted on the roll-carrying plate and driven from the shaft which drives the former 3. The rolls 4, 5, 6 are mounted in carriages 18, 19, 20 movable along guides 24, 25, 26 by means of screws 27, 28, 29 rotatably mounted on the table 2 and engaging threaded bores in the carriages. The former 3 is driven by gearing 9 .. 14 from a hand-wheel 15 or belt pulleys 51, 52 or motor 16, the shaft 8 carrying a gear 43 for driving the auxiliary gear 44 and bevel pinions 45 engaging bevel pinions 46, 47 adapted to be clutched as by sliding ring 50 and hand-lever 48 to the roll adjustment screws.
