360,308. Aircraft landing gear. POPLAWSKI, B. J., 32, U1. Czarnieckiego, Warsaw. Feb. 23, 1931, No. 5620. Convention date, Feb. 22, 1930. [Class 4.] An aeroplane is provided with endless tracks 3 encircling the lower plane 2 of a biplane or the tips and roots of a monoplane to facilitate alighting on soft ground. The tracks may be of resilient or rigid material and follow the contour of the wing with sufficient space beneath the wing to enable shocks to be taken up. The supporting rollers for the tracks may have tyres 7 on their inner edges projecting beyond the tracks for use on hard ground, or wheels independent of the track rollers may be provided. The tracks may be driven and braked and where separate wheels are provided they may be driven independently of the tracks. The planes act as hydro-vanes or floats or both when on the water.
