Abstract

Printing.-Clean coloured effects are produced on fabrics by padding with an arylide of 2 : 3-oxynaphthoic acid, drying, printing with formaldehyde-sodium-hydrosulphite and with a vat-dyestuff, drying again, steaming and developing with a diazotized base or a similar preparation. At the spots printed with the vat-dyestuff clear coloured resist-effects under ice-colours are obtained. In examples the following components are specified: padding components; 2 : 3-oxynaphthoyl-aniline; resists; Indanthrene yellow G, Indigo MLB/6B, or dimethoxydibenzanthrone pasted with glycerol, sodium benzylsulphanilate, British gum, gum arabic, potash and formaldehyde-sodium hydrosulphite ; diazo components ; 4-amino-41-methoxydiphenylamine and 4-chloro-2-nitraniline (diazonium zinc chloride double salt).
