[Class 35.] Cores.-An electric motor having stationary field magnets 1 placed within a bell-shaped armature 6 and enclosed in a cylin. drical magnetic housing 4 is provided with an insertion 9 consisting of layers of iron extending along and in close contact with the inner side of the housing for the purpose of giving an adequate iron cross section for the flux path. The insertion 9 may comprise a number of rings or a continuous spiral and is held against a fixed stop 10 by a spring ring or nut 11. The armature 6 may be wound.
