Abstract

356,235. Tar &c. boilers. CLARK, G. S., 45, Midwharf Street, Glasgow. May 7, 1930, No. 13978. [Class 107.] Boilers A for heating tar and tar compounds are provided with electric heating means in the form of resistance elements H which are detachably mounted within one or more tubes G horizontally fixed in the boiler and are arranged to be of such a resistance that they do not get red hot at the voltage for which they are designed. One end of each tube G extends into a casing I which is mounted on the wall of the boiler and provided with a door J. The boiler A is provided with filling holes C having rollers E for supporting in position a tar &c., barrel F. The temperature of the contents of the boiler may be regulated by thermostatic control.
