Abstract

356,200. Pneumatic collectors for dust &c. MUNRO, H., 144, St. Vincent Street, Glasgow. June 4, 1930, No. 17151. Addition to 334,854, [Class 107, Roads &c.]. [Class 107.] In a pneumatic dustcollector of the kind described in the parent Specification, an additional nozzle 2a is provided for bulky articles which are carried under it by scrapers &c. while it is raised off the ground by levers 4, 5. The nozzle is then lowered, and valves 15, 16 are opened, so that air from the fan 8 is blown through a pipe 7a into the space 10 round the nozzle 11, through which the articles are drawn into the pipe 12a leading to the separator 13. In a modification, Fig. 3, the additional nozzle 2a is omitted, and an opening 17, normally closed by a shutter 18, is formed in the suction pipe 12 of the nozzle 2 for the passage of the bulky articles.
