[Class 83 (iv).] Bands or strips are rolled in a close-spaced continuous mill without loop-forming spaces the rolls of each stand being all of the same diameter so that worn rollers in the finer passes can be used again in the coarser passes without regrinding and spare rollers required are reduced, the total reduction of metal being at least 10: 1. The rolls may be driven by separate electric motors so compounded that if the work done at each face is not similar, overloading is obviated.
