355,345. Stove details. CHAPMAN, F. W., 14, Gonville Road, Thornton Heath, Surrey. May 23, 1930, No. 15953. [Class 126.] A domestic water-heater having a central open-topped flue 3 is provided with a flue baffle removable as a single unit, and comprising a number of flat plates 5 which are strung on a rod 6 and make contact over a considerable part of their periphery with the wall of the flue, thus giving up heat to the flue and constraining the gases to follow a tortuous course. In the form shown the plates occupy only the lower part of the flue, are of segmental shape, and are secured by nuts on a screwed rod 6 in such successive positions as to give the gases a substantially helical path. The assemblage is supported by an internal swaging 8 on the flue, on which the lowermost plate rests. In a modification, the plates are in the form of lunes having square apertures by which they are strung on a squared rod, tubular distance pieces being inserted between them.
