Abstract
355,248. Roller-and-breast grinding or crushing mills. HOLMES, L. G., 89, Boulevard Adolphe Max, Brussels, and GRINDING MIXING SEPARATING ENGINEERING CO., SOC. ANON., Ampsin-lez-Huy, both in Belgium. May 19, 1930, No. 15346. [Class 59.] In a single roll grinding mill having a partitioned feed hopper above the roll, the partition element is provided with means whereby communication between the two compartments formed by the partition can be effected at varying levels for the purpose of multiple grinding or for mixing and grinding. The hopper a is mounted on a base b above the grinding roll c, the roll and base being relatively adjustable. The hopper and base is divided by a partition d and a scraper e slidable on the partition is adjustable by rods i and nuts g. The partition is perforated at k for a pipe l, the height of which in the compartment B being controlled by a rod m and nut o. A breast p contacts with the roll and the ground material is removed through a plug r. The paint &c. is poured into the compartment A from which it is carried on the roller c under the breast p to the compartment B which gradually fills until it reaches the level of the top of the pipe l through which it passes to the compartment A for further grinding.
