Abstract

355,005. Dredging. REID, J., 4, Lloyds Avenue, London. Aug. 6, 1930, No. 23560. [Class 68 (i).] In a suction dredger, the rear wall c of the suction head is curved downwardly and forwardly to approximately beneath the lower edge of the front wall to act, alone or in conjunction with an adjustable plate d, as a scoop, and a cutter bar f, preferably with detachable teeth, is connected to pivoted arms g rocked by a hydraulic device k. The plate d may also be carried by the arms g. The opening of the mouth may be varied by use of interchangeable plates e of different sizes. The hydraulic device k may be arranged at right-angles to, or below and parallel to, the dredger leg.
