Abstract

353,694. Hats. BROWN, A., 29, Lingard Road, Northenden, Lancashire. July 25, 1930, No. 22426. [Class 63.] A hat size-reducer comprises a leather or fabric fitment of e.g. an inch and a half breadth the lower edge of which is provided with wire or other stiffening material and extends along the inner edge of the hat at the rear, the top edge extending upwardly and forwardly into the hat and having incorporated therewith an extensible medium. The stiffener is held in a seam formed with gaps f to expose the wire to facilitate stitching the same to the hat. The top edge b is formed with a seam to receive elastic tape under tension. The stiffener is shaped to the contour of the hat, and may be of whalebone or celluloid.
