Abstract
353,491. Switchgear structures. REYROLLE & CO., Ltd., A., Hebburn-on- Tyne, and CHRISTIE, J., 4, Sidecliff Road, Sunderland. March 26, 1930, No. 9598. [Class 38 (v).] Rotary selector switches for separately enclosed duplicate bus-bars in a switchgear structure are themselves separately enclosed in oil-filled casings and serve each to make (or break) the circuit between one pole of the oil-immersed circuit-breaker and the respective bus-bar at two points. The enclosed bus-bars A terminate in contacts A<1> enclosed in oil-filled chambers B below which is mounted another oil-filled chamber C, attached to the circuit-breaker J by means of a flexible extension H<3>, and into which a tubular casing H extends. This casing has internal and external contacts K<2>, H<1> mounted on it, the internal contacts being engaged by the contact on the upper end of a detachable coupling element carried by a condenser-type insulator K<1>. The lower end of the coupling element engages one of the fixed contacts of the circuit-breaker. An insulator D<1>, rotatably mounted and operated from outside by the linkage G, G<1>, G<2>, carries two contact-arms F, E, Fig. 2, which engage the contacts H<1>, A<1> and connect the chosen bus-bar (or disconnect it) at two points. An angularly-moving contact-member P in a separate casing O serves to connect the other pole of the circuit-breaker with the feeder Q and makes and breaks the circuit at one point only. Earth contacts are provided for the off positions of the contact arms E, F, P and the usual interlocks between the isolating switches themselves and between them and the circuit-breaker may be provided.
