Abstract

352,495. Laminated springs. CARTERET, P. A., 16, Rue Berteaux- Dumas, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. April 5, 1930, No. 10912. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1929. [Class 108 (iii).] A laminated spring the oscillations of which are damped by friction between the plates, comprises two unsubdivided main leaves l, f, each pivotally supported at both ends by the chassis and subsidiary leaves arranged below the main leaf, the second leaf f being capable of sliding relatively to the remaining leaves. In one form the two leaves l, f are mounted in an inverse manner to each other by means of shackles j<1>, j<2> and pivots a, d. The leaf f is given an initial reverse curvature to that of the other leaves and is provided with a slot in which a distance-piece g is situated. The top leaf l, the distanoe-piece g and the subsidiary leaves are bolted together by a central assembly bolt and holes are provided to facilitate lubrication. Friction leaves made of materials such as brass, aluminium, fibre, may be interposed, and the leaves may be of wedge-shape.
