351,422. Composite blocks or slabs. BOURDELLES, L., 39, Rue Galilee, Paris. Dec. 11, 1929, No. 38044. Convention date, Dec. 12, 1928. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 87 (i).] A slab is made with a core of cellular plaster or concrete, which may receive one or more layers of reinforcement. The facing layers on one or both sides of the core may be of ordinary plaster, silicated plaster or stucco, ordinary or magnesium cement, or cement concrete or mortar, and may differ on the two sides. Powdered metal with an alkaline nitrate or base may also be used in the composition of the facing layers. As one example of manufacture, a facing layer 3 and a reinforcement 5, which may comprise bars, a grid or expanded metal, are placed in a mould and a slightly acidulated mixture 1 of plaster and water added. After the gaseous bubbles evolved have formed the cells in the plaster, the second layer 4 of reinforcement is applied and the other facing layer 2 run in. A small quantity of vegetable or animal albumen may be added to the acidulated water. The reinforcements may be coated with cement or fibrous woven material.
