Abstract

<PICT:0350716/III/1> Emulsifying apparatus comprises superposed plates 3 . . 7 interposed between inlet and outlet funnels 1, 2, and having nonregistering perforations such as 3a . . 7a some of which are formed at the base of annular or like channels 4b, 5b, or of cup-like depressions. Unperforated channels such as 7c, or depressions, which may be undercut, may also be provided in any plate immediately opposite perforations in the preceding plate. The total area of the perforations may decrease in the direction of flow to obtain a progressively intensified emulsifying effect.
