Abstract
350,309. Visible card indexes. EDLER, O. and EDLER, F., (trading as EDLER & KRISCHE), 42, Kestnerstrasse, Hanover, Germany. July 25, 1930, No. 22518. Convention date, May 2. [Class 146 (i).] In a visible card index, of the kind in which the cards c are arranged in a pack with each card successively displaced to expose a narrow margin of each, the upper part d of each card is cut off at an angle to form an inclined margin, upon which is indicated the purpose of the card. Each card is provided with a series of recesses e to engage distance pieces b, and account sheets i may be inserted between the cards, the sheets being of any convenient length, but not sufficiently wide to extend from the lower edge of the card to beyond the sloping margin. The first lug f is marked on the front and the last lug on the back of each card, so that a break in the series is at once apparent: further, a line g is provided parallel to the sloping edge, which is covered when each card is in position but is exposed when the adjacent higher card is removed. The end card of the series has no line g, is shorter than the rest by the width of a lug and a recess, and is differently coloured.
