Abstract
349,797. Telephone sets. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., Caxton House, Tothill Street, and FORCEVILLE, E. A., 23, Fossil Road, Lewisham, both in London. June 14, 1930, No. 18272. [Class 40 (iv).] In a telephone instrument having a microtelephone, the handle part of the micro-telephone and its support on the casing of the instrument are so shaped that a projection on one fits into a correspondingly shaped recess in the other, so as to ensure correct replacement. The casing 1 is provided with a wedge-shaped projection 2, the upper edge of which is curved in the direction in which the micro-telephone lies and also in a direction at right-angles thereto, and the handle 4 of the micro-telephone is slotted or recessed to the same shape. The contact switching springs 6 are operated by a spring-pressed T-shaped plunger 9, the crosspiece 10 of which is situated in a slot in the projection 2 and the upper part of the casing, and projects from the sides thereof so as to be depressed by the handle 4 when the latter is replaced. In a modification, the switching springs are operated by a two-armed vertical lever, the upper end of which has a projection adapted to be engaged by the handle 4.
