Abstract
349,480. Heating water by electricity. WHITE, A. E., 5, Quality Court, Chancery Lane, London.-(Hynes & Cox Electric Corporation ; 406, North Pearl Street, New York, U.S.A.) Dec. 24, 1929, No. 39448. [Class 39 (iii).] A beating element B<2> and a thermostat K<2> therefor are arranged in the lower part of the storage tank and a second heating element B<1> and a thermostat K<1> therefor are arranged in the upper part of the tank, the thermostats operating at different temperatures. The elements may be enclosed within circulating tubes W2, X<2>. The tube X<2> is perforated at P or the lower half thereof is omitted. It is stated that the bulk of the heating is performed by the lower heater during non-peak hours. The lower heater is the larger one and its thermostat operates at a lower temperature than does the upper thermostat. The position of the thermostats is adjustable and they operate switches a<2>, a<1>.
