349,316. Kettles. ELLIS, E. J., 54, Prestbury Road, Forest Gate, London. May 30, 1930, No. 16816. [Class 66.] A lidless kettle has a tubular steam vent 13 formed with one or more apertures 14 disposed behind the handle 9 and adapted to direct escaping steam against the lower rear part the eof, which acts as a baffle. The vent may be provided with a valve 15 opened by the steam pressure. The spout 6, which serves as the filling opening, may be provided with an inward tubular extension 16 formed with openings 17; the lid 7 is preferably hinged to a channel section strip 18 secured to the outer surface of the spout.
