[Class 97 (i).] Sighting apparatus, e.g. telescopic sights, aiming devices, torpedo-tube sights, &c., are provided with a finder 1 constituted by a coloured and transparent area-finder contrastingly defined to the remainder of the field of vision in place of the usual etched or ruled lines. The particular form of the finder may be modified to suit the target, which is viewed through the coloured area. Auxiliary markings of the same or different colour may be provided.
