Abstract

348,951. Bottle &c. closures. BLANCH, E. A. and KORK-N-SEAL, Ltd., 40, Norfolk Street, Strand, London. July 9, 1930, No. 20785. [Class 125 (iii).] In a bottle or like closure consisting of a metallic cap 1 having a depending slotted skirt portion 2 the edge of which is rolled over a divided ring 3 adapted to be constricted to effect the sealing of the bottle &c. by a lever engaging the ends, the lever is formed from a solid blank 6 having a V-shaped slot 7, the arms 8 so formed being bent to form sockets for the ends 4 of the divided ring 3. The edges 9 which form converging cam surfaces 9<1> are preferably formed parallel for a short portion 10, so that, when the lever is in the closed position, the influence of the compressed divided ring will not tend to throw it into the open position. The end 11 is preferably bent forwardly for more efficient manipulation.
