Abstract
348,941. Valve generating circuits. TELEPONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON, 33, Kungsgatan, Stockholm. July 3, 1930, No. 20225. Convention date, July 5, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] To maintain a substantially constant output over a wide frequency range in a valve-generator, the anode circuit of a valve D2 comprises a series-tuned circuit L, C, tuned to the working frequency, and in series with a resistance R4 having the same ohmic resistance as the loss resistance of the circuit L, C at resonance. The impedance of the output circuit is independent of frequency, and a constant degree of back-coupling is applied from a point a on the resistance R4 to a preceding valve through a metallic connection involving no phasechange, so as to maintain the two valves in oscillation. High-tension voltage is fed to the plate of valve D2 through a resistance R3. A second parallel resistance R5 is tapped at b to the input of an amplifier F. A third branch circuit C2, R6 compensates any phase-displacement due to the condenser C. The effective value of the resistances R3, R4, R5 is equivalent to the loss resistance at resonance of the tuned circuit L, C. The series tuning allows the use of a smaller and less expensive condenser combined with a higher inductance than usual.
