Abstract

265,612. Telefunken Ges. fiir Drahtlose Telegraphie. Feb. 6, 1926, [Convention date]. Thermionic amplifiers and generators. -Valve transmitters of the self-excited or externally-excited types have the output circuit so arranged that the highfrequency current between the plate and filament passes only through the condenser of the tuned oscillatory circuit whilst the direct current passes through the coil of that circuit. The tuned circuit comprises series condensers a, b and a tapped coil e. One side of the tuned circuit is connected directly to the plate of the valve H, and the other side is connected through a condenser c to the valve grid. This condenser may be set to neutralize the inter-electrode capacity when using external excitation, or may be set out of balance for selfexcitation. The high-tension source f is connected between the filament and a point 'between the two condensers a, b, and the direct-current circuit to the plate is completed by a highfrequency choke coil r and a part of the coil e. The absence of a high-frequency connection between the coil and the earthed filament avoids the formation of subsidiary circuits comprising the coil sections and their capacities to earth. Condensers d selected by switches may be connected across the whole coil e for tuning. An additional coil may also if desired be connected in parallel with the coil e.
