Abstract

348,415. Veneers. ELMENDORF, A., 919, North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A. June 2, 1930, No. 16965. [Classes 145 (i) and 145 (ii).] A veneer having a flexible backing of paper or cloth for use as a wall covering is treated to prevent warping by bending the sheet over a blunt edge along lines parallel to the grain. The veneer is held between flexible belts 3, 4 and is then passed continuously over the edge 1. In a modified process the veneer is bent between dies 1, 5, and is moved forward intermittently. Specification 348,416 is referred to.
