348,414. Television. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. May 30, 1930, No. 16802. Convention date, June 8, 1929. [Class 40 (iii).] In a system in which the scanning at the transmitting or receiving station is effected by a " Weiller " mirror-wheel in conjunction with two or more light sources so arranged that they scan different parts of the object, the light beams are brought into operation cyclically after each complete revolution of the mirror wheel so that the complete scanning of the picture is effected in a number of revolutions equal to the number of the light sources. The received signals are applied to Kerr cells K1, K2, operating in conjunction with a constant light source B, during successive rotation of the mirrorwheel S. The change-over is effected by a rotating switch U suitably geared to the mirror-wheel S. The light-sources L1, L2 (Fig. 2) may be arranged so that the points l1, l2 scan adjacent areas I, II of a picture surface P. Alternatively, Fig. 3 (not shown) the points l1, l2 may describe alternate lines on the picture area. The Kerr cells or glow lamps may be formed by a number of electrodes or cathodes respectively in a single cell construction or gas chamber. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the light beams may simultaneously scan different parts of the picture surface. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
