Abstract

348,337. Firebars. HARTLEY, J. W., Drysdale House, Newcastle Road, Stone, Staffordshire. April 14, 1930, No. 11715. [Class 51 (i).] A composite firebar is composed of relatively thin cast-iron bars 1, Figs. 1 and 3, of downwardly tapering cross section at their upper parts 2 and with integral spacing nibs 3, 4 having pointed upper ends situated below the tops of the bars. The bars are connected by rivets 5 passing through the nibs 4. When an abnormal length of composite firebar is required a plain wrought-iron or steel bar 9, Fig. 5, is associated with the cast-iron bars 1 and one of the cast-iron bars is provided with spacing nibs 3, 4 on both sides.
