Abstract

367,394. Railway sleepers. HUGHES, E. S. B., MACKENZIE-, 75, Rue de Namur, Liege, Belgium. Nov. 19, 1930, No. 34830. (Class 104 (ii).] A metal sleeper is provided with two pairs of convex ribs 2 to engage a chair &c. 3 having curved edges 4 to fit the ribs. The chair is spotwelded at 5 to the sleeper. The ribs prevent stresses from affecting the welded joints. The chair may be replaced by a plate having two raised slotted portions to support rail clips.
