Abstract

348,016. Filtering-media. LEMAIRE, A., 22, Boulevard Liebaert, Coutrai, Belgium. Jan. 28, 1930, No. 2923. Convention date, Jan. 29, 1929. [Class 46.] A filter fabric comprises two superposed fabrics, which are interlaced by weaving at the edges B, C &c. where the filter fabric is connected at a, b, c, Fig. 1, to the filter plate or frame or press, whilst the two fabrics are unconnected at the part A serving as the actual filtering part d. Moreover, as shown in Fig. 2, the warp and weft threads are interwoven in each fabric in different manners in the parts A and B, C respectively, so that the parts. A are stronger and thicker than the parts B, C although interwoven from the same threads. The parts B, C may contain threads with metallic cores or threads of different material or twist &c. to those in the part A. In practise, the central part A of one of the fabrics is cut away to provide a single fabric at this part and a double fabric at the edges. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), it is stated that the fabric may have cut or uncut loops. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
