[Class 97 (i).] In optical-projection cabinets of the kind having a compartment for the reception of projection apparatus, furnished with a screen carried upon a movable support in such a manner that when in use the support extends in front of the cabinet and the screen occupies a substantially vertical position spaced from the front of the cabinet, the screen is adapted to be folded down upon the support, which is arranged to be moved together with the folded screen into the cabinet. In talking kinematography the cabinet may house a loudspeaker or other sound reproducer. As shown in the Figure, below the platform 4, and spaced therefrom and from the side walls 8 of the cabinet, are mounted rails 9 extending from front to rear, and upon which slides the expanding support formed of two pieces 10, 11 of sheet material. The sheets 10, 11 may be provided with central longitudinal slots 12 engaged by clamping screws 13. A transparent screen 14 is clamped in a frame 15 hinged to the front of the expanding support and retained upright by the pivoted stays 16. The space between the platform 4 and the rails 9 is bounded by side walls supporting rollers serving both as guides during movement of the support and also cooperating with stops preventing undue extension. The expanding support may also take the form of lazytongs. The Provisional Specification also describes an arrangement wherein the screen is placed close against the cabinet, and is not hinged to the support. In another modification the support may be formed of one or more members which can be folded flat and placed flat against a wall of the cabinet.
