Abstract

371,990. Optical-projection apparatus. GRAMOPHONE CO., Ltd., and STANLEY, H. H. V., 79, North Hyde Road, both in Hayes, Middlesex. Feb. 17, 1931, No. 5071. [Class 97 (i).] A projection cabinet comprises a movable member, e.g. a hinged lid, permanently carrying a support for a projection screen, the support being movable relatively to the member, and both the support and member occupying different positions when the apparatus is in use and out of use. As shown, a hinged lid 7 carries a hinged support 12 having attached thereto one end of a silk or other fabric screen 13 carried by a roller 18. When the lid is lowered, the support 12 forms part of the front of the cabinet, and the screen is wound on the roller. The projector 4 is carried by a partition 2, and the light beam is reflected to the screen by a fixed mirror 5 and a mirror 10 carried by brackets 11 on the lid. Dark curtains may be provided to close in the lateral spaces formed by opening the lid, and an electrical amplifier and loudspeaker 19 may be housed in the cabinet.
