Receiving sets, construction of.-A receiving set is mounted' in a writing bureau a, and a loud speaker e is attached to the lid b so as to project sound through one or more apertures therein. The connections to the loud speaker are preferably made through the hinges of the lid. The batteries may be housed in a drawer k provided with contact strips m arranged to make connection only when the drawer is closed. The tuning panel c may be arranged in the space usually occupied by pigeon holes, with the valve panel d below. A frame aerial h may be hinged in a compartment at the back of the bureau so that its direction in azimuth can be adjusted. A shelf n, which can be pulled out for writing purposes, may also be provided. According to the Provisional Specification, the loud speaker may be arranged behind the lid b, and an aperture need not be provided.
