346,925. Striking plates for latches &c. BURGESS & SONS, Ltd., B. and BURGESS, B., Temple Bar, Willenhall, Staffordshire. March 4, 1930, No. 7043. [Class 44.] A striking plate for locks, latches, &c. is strengthened by a rectangular box-like structure g surrounding and extending backwards from, the apertures E, F which receive the heads of the bolts. A single structure may surround both apertures, as shown, or a separate structure may be provided for each aperture. The invention is also applicable to a striking plate with a single aperture. In use, the bottom of the structure, which may be open or closed, rests against the bottom of the receiving hole cut in the woodwork.
