Convention date, Oct. 3, 1928. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 38 (ii).] A choking-coil a, b, f, f2, Fig. 2, for supplying smoothed current to wireless sets &c. at various voltages, is placed across D.C. mains, or across the output of an A.C. mains rectifier. The coil is wound in part with resistance wire and is tapped at various points d, e for plate voltages, and at i, k for grid-biasing voltages. The filaments may be connected in series at H, h between the plate portion and the grid bias portion of the coil; and the filaments may be shunted by an ohmic resistance and/or a battery. The various plate loads d, e may also include coils wound on the core of the choking-coil. Non-inductive resistances may replace some portions of the choke. In another form, the filaments are supplied through a shunt branch placed directly across the mains, and including high-resistance chokes. In a further form the high-tension and grid-bias branch is wholly non-inductive.
