Abstract
345,394. Rearing- appliances. AMERICAN INCUBATORS, Inc., New Brunswick, New Jersey, U.S.A. Jan. 17, 1930, No. 1743. Convention date, Aug. 16, 1929. [Class 5 (ii).] Opaque shields or guards 20 are adjustably secured upon vertical bars 8 forming the walls of a brooder by clamps 21 provided with thumb-screws23. The compartments of the brooder may be separated from each other by solid walls towards the back which may itself be formed by a metal or plywood partition not extending to the full height of the compartments to permit ventilation. The side walls separating the compartments may be more closely barred than the fronts. Droppings pans 4 are supported on cleats below the compartments, the flooring of which is formed by wire mesh. Heating pipes 15 are fitted toward the back of the compartments and feed troughs 17 and water troughs 18 are supported along the barred outer sides.
