Abstract

345,372. Constructional toys. MAIN, O. E. and SMELSER, L. L., Oskaloosa, Iowa, U.S.A. Jan. 3, 1930, No. 306. [Class 132 (iii).] In a constructional toy of the kind in which the parts of animals or dolls are connected by ball-andsocket joints, the connecting element comprises a pin 22, Fig. 9, having a reduced neck 26 terminating in a ball 24 that is adapted for insertion into the socket 42, Fig. 10, of a co-operating element 36, the socket being of somewhat less normal diameter than the ball and having lateral notches 44. The pin 22 is tapered for removable or permanent insertion into holes 20, Fig. 1, in the body part 12 of the toy, or the pin may be formed integral with a limb, Fig. 10. A kerf 46 extends inwardly from each socket to increase its resilience. A number of different head members 28 are provided.
