Abstract

261,856. Holmes, V. W. Aug. 31, 1925. Disc and like plate hinges; joint pins. - For scissors and like tools and surgical appliances of the kind in which two leg members B, C are pivotally connected together, the pivot pin A is hollow and slit at one end and with a chamfer on its inner face to engage with a chamfer on the face of its leg member, as shown. The pivot pin may be rigidly connected to one limb, it may be housed in a bush or liner secured to the limb or limbs, and the strength of the pivot and its resistance to the separation of the limbs by force may be increased by the insertion of a plug into the pivot. When a loose pin is employed it may be a force fit in the socket member.
