Abstract

345,365. Covers for resisting fluid pressure. ETABLISSEMENTS BOUILLON FRERES and BOUILLON, J., 32, Boulevard de Grenelle, Paris. Dec. 31, 1929, No. 39909. [Class 123 (i).] A pressure relieving closure for fluid-containing vessels comprises a flexible packing ring 3 interposed between the neck of the vessel &c. and a recessed surface 20 in the cover, the recess being wide enough to allow the packing to expand by sliding in relieving excess pressure, whilst the packing resumes its normal packing position thereafter. As applied to an autoclave, the cover 6 is fixed to the vessel 2 by a hinge 4 and pivoted clamp device 9, 10, as shown, there being play in the hinge to allow even pressure over the whole ring 3.
