Abstract

345,326. Wire resistances. WILSON, H. N., 50, Queensborough Terrace, Hyde Park, London. Dec. 14, 1929, No. 38367. [Class 37.] An electrically heated filament is mounted in a contracted portion of a vertical tube forming a sound-producing apparatus or fire alarm. The filament is carried in an insulating support 4, Fig. 3, which is held by plates 10, 11 in a slot in the tube. The filament may be wound spirally or zig-zag. Several shapes of heater are described, Figs. 16, 23, and 24 showing respectively a spiral filament, two filaments in parallel, and a number of filaments in series.
