Convention date, June 6, 1929. Addition to 313,526, [Class 108 (i), Road vehicles, Body details &c. of]. [Class 108 (i).] In the road vehicle described in the parent Specification the side grooves for the sliding cover are made integral and oscillatable about longitudinal axes, the cover comprises two superposed layers, the cover and grooves are operated and controlled by cam shafts and a suction motor and the front cross rail of the vehicle is made hollow. The side grooves W, Fig. 2, are pivoted at p and are oscillated by means of cams b<l> operated from the cam shaft shown in Fig. 5. This cam shaft is also used to control a suction motor to draw the cover forward by means of the cord z<l>, the cams C<2>, C<3> operating valves S<11>, S<111> to place the cylinder in communication with the engine or the atmosphere. The cover comprises two superposed layers wound on separate rollers r, r<1>, the lower layer being provided with slats l, l<11> by means of which the cover is transversely bowed. The front cross rail is formed of sheet metal and of hollow construction.
