Abstract
343,776. Window holders. BEATON, G. H. and BEATON & SON, Ltd., G., Victoria Road, Willesden, London. March 13, 1930, No. 8183. [Class 44.] In a vehicle &c. window having horizontally sliding panes B, B<1> guided in a double channel A<1>, the panes are secured in adjusted position by a pair of levers G, H, pivoted at J in a bearing K below the channel, the upper ends of the levers forming jaws operating through gaps in the outer walls of the channel. A screw M with knob M<1> and screwing through the lower end of lever H and bearing against the lower end of lever G closes the jaws to grip the panes, or, preferably, to grip depending ribs E on channel members D with rubber &c. linings C secured to the lower edges of the panes, so avoiding pressure on the glass. When the screw is retracted the jaws are opened by a spring N. Knobs F for sliding the windows may be secured to the channel members D.
