Abstract
343,738. Capsuling bottles. SEROG, L., Bielski, Silesia, Poland. Feb. 15, 1930, No. 5159. [Class 125 (ii).] Relates to bottle-sealing machines of the type in which tinfoil &c. capped bottles are pressed between rotating sealing rollers. According to the invention the bottle holders B comprise two adjustable arms 25 disposed above support plates 10 and carrying jaws 18 having rollers 20 which hold the bottles at four places so that bottles of various sizes may be sealed therein. The arms 25 are pivoted on bolts 13 and are pressed towards each other by springs 24. A screw 28 is provided for adjusting the distance apart of the bolts 13. The pressure of the springs 24 can be adjusted by relatively rotating interengaging plates 21, 22. Threaded spindles 30 support the bottle holders and are adjustable relative to the sliding parts 5 by means of lock-nuts 33. A change-speed gear 39, 40, 41, 44 facilitates driving at various speeds according to the sizes of bottles being dealt with. Casings are provided for the motor 34 and the change-speed gear. A foot- or hand-operated clutch 37 is used to control the machine. Dished portions of the part 4 collect liquid &c. from broken bottles. The sealing rollers can be readily removed.
