Abstract

343,646. Piles. HELLWIG, M., 25, Eberbardstrasse, and EISEN-UND STAHLWERK HOESCH AKT.-GES. IN DORTMUND, both in Dortmund, Germany. Dec. 13, 1929, No. 38281. [Class 68 (ii).] Sheet-metal piles of channel-section are formed with undercut grooves 3a in the web portions 2. The grooves may project inwards or outwards, or in botb directions as shown in the Figure. The corners where the flanges join the webs may be bevelled, and the two of such channels may be connected so as to form a box pile. In making the piles, the groove or grooves 3a are formed first with parallel sides, the parts 2a of the web being then inclined or arched. These parts are then straightened out to form a flat web 2.
