Abstract

343,334. Cutting carcases into parts. FAGONDE, J., 1014, General Rodriguez Street, Banfield, Buenos Ayres. Feb. 28, 1930, No. 6769. [Class 28 (ii).] In apparatus for cutting carcases into halves comprising means for lifting the carcase upwards past a cutting-device, the latter is constituted by an endless saw. The carcases are suspended from hooks b and fed by rails a on to rail sections d, e, in a lift formed from two main uprights c. The rail sections are connected by pivoted bars and tackle to a system of winch n and cable l in such a manner that, when the lift has travelled up a short distance, the sections e assume a sloped position as at f, leaving within them a central space p wherein the endless saw t, Fig. III, may operate. The saw t is mounted on wheels r transversely of the rails a in a position inclined to the horizontal to ensure a perfect cut, and is driven from a motor s. As the carcase moves upwards, it is guided by an operator so that the saw divides it through the dorsal spine. Stops to limit upward movement, spring-damping, sawcleaning and other devices may be provided.
