Abstract

343,267. Air douches ; hand &c. driers. McKERLIE, H., 69, Upper Chorlton Road, Manchester. Jan. 15, 1930, No. 1420. [Class 81 (ii).] Air douches for drying the hands or face comprise a fan 1B mounted on a spindle 1A passing through a conical or pyramidal baseplate 2 and driven by an electric motor 1 secured beneath the baseplate as by screws 3. The fan is enclosed in a conical casing 5 of metal porcelain or glass and draws air through apertures 4 in the plate 2. The casing 5 has a cylindrical extension 6 containing an electric heating coil wound upon a cruciform former 7 and having pins 8 engaging sockets in terminal base 9. The members 5, 6 are covered by a cowl 10 and are provided with a delivery funnel 11. The whole apparatus may be supported on a pedestal 12 or on a wall bracket or may be suspended in an inverted position.
