Abstract
341,773. R÷ntgen-ray tubes. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13A, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. March 12, 1930, No. 8084. Convention date, March 30, 1929. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i).] In anticathodes comprising a target of refractory metal in good thermal relation to a backing, having considerable mass, of copper or other good heatconductor, the target is less than À5 mm., and preferably between À1 and À3 mm., thick. The target may be of tungsten À2 mm. thick or of thorium or uranium or alloys. In tubes for heavy, short loads or with moving anticathodes giving short local loads at individual points of the target, heat is rapidly conducted away from the active face of the target, the target thickness being such that this active face, and the face of the copper contacting with the target, reach their maximum permissible temperatures simultaneously. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also targets of thickness up to one mm. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
