[Class 36.] In order to allow for fine adjustment of the hanger arm of a trolley wire for electric railways, the arm is fitted over a cylindrical skew body by which the hanger can be set independently of the position of the transverse suspension wire to the inclination required for bringing the hanger bolt into the vertical position. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the hanger arm a with its sleeve b is slid from below on to the hollow cylindrical skew body c which is carried on the cap d of an insulator e. The ear f of the trolley wire is screwed flush on the insulator bolt g. Hook-shaped members k on the hanger arm a fit over the suspension wire i, and the arm a is clamped to the wire by an extension piece l. In modified constructions, the insulator itself may be in the form of a skew cylinder, or, as shown in Fig. 12, the cylindrical skew body c may replace the hanger bolt, or the skew body may be divided, the two pieces being held together by the hanger bolt.
