Abstract

315,763. Pontecorvo, L. July 17, 1928, [Convention date]. Systems of supporting cables and conductors.- Overhead electric traction lines are mounted on an arm 5 which is connected to an insulator 3 mounted on a ring 2 carried by a rigid support 1. Movement of the arm 5 is allowed by a hinge 4. The support 1 is of angular or curved formation and comprises horizontal and vertical arms, being slidably mounted on a horizontal bar 7 by clamps 8. The bar 7 is slidably adjustable on a vertical pole. In a modified construction the arm 1 may be mounted directly on the pole by clamps 9 which are adjustable vertically. On a curve the wire may be further supported by a tension member attached to a post on the outer side of the curve. The insulator may consist of porcelain tubes surrounding one member and surrounded by a metal collar attached to the other, so that even if the porcelain is completely destroyed the members remain in connection.
