Abstract

280,894. Rowland, D. H. Nov. 19, 1926, [Convention date]. Insulators.-An insulator of the suspension type for use with high tension electric lines comprises a dielectric body of porcelain or glass having depending skirt, and petticoat, portions 2, 3 respectively, and an upstanding frustro-conical stem 4, as shown, which encloses an undercut recess 5. A flared cap 8 fits over the stem 4 and is formed with inwardly extending edges 10. The cap is secured in position by cement 11. A pin 13, with a frusto-conical head 14 is secured in the recess 5 by cement 15, the stem and recess walls being glazed and smooth throughout to prevent adhesion of the cement which is stated to act solely as a lock.
